Most people almost all the time experience stress due to falling into the trap of the Anxiety Gap, through judgement and worry. Judgement of themselves, of others and of experiences. Worry through fretting about the future, worrying about what other people think, or brooding about the past. These thoughts and emotions create stress, disenchantment, anxiety, panick attacks and depression.

When dealing with the present moment you have two basic choices. You can approach it from the point of view of what you want. If you do this, you become emotionally attached to the outcome of the moment. You give too much power to the outcome (result). You empower the other to withhold something from you and it makes you manipulable, and the moment defines you. The moment becomes bigger than you…..and you become stuck, and this may result in desperate actions (or ineffective action).

On the other hand, if you approach the moment from what you are prepared to “put in”. You then shift the focus of your intent away from your immediate self interest, to something bigger and higher than you. You then rise above the situation and you are able to take determined and effective action with passion (positive emotion) and this allows you to dictate the outcome of the moment and the best possible result, which may even be better than the result you envisioned. In other words, always give more than you take.
